Terms of service

These terms apply when you create a UseForge account. By signing up you agree to them. If you are agreeing on behalf of a company, you confirm you are authorised to do so.

The service

UseForge lets you create and send quotes and invoices, collect payment on them, and automate recurring billing. We provide the software. The content of your documents, the accuracy of your pricing and tax, and your relationship with your customers remain yours.

Free trial

New accounts get a 30-day free trial with full access to the features included in the trial. No card is required to start, and nothing is charged automatically when the trial ends. When the trial ends you can choose a paid plan or stay on the free plan, which has lower limits. Your data is not deleted when the trial ends.

Payment and billing

Paid plans are billed in advance for the period you choose. Fees are stated on the pricing page at the time you subscribe and exclude VAT unless stated otherwise. You may cancel at any time, and the cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for. We do not refund part-periods unless the law requires it.

Payments your customers make on your invoices are handled by the payment provider you connect. Their fees and settlement terms are between you and that provider.

Your responsibilities

• Keep your login details secure and tell us promptly if an account is compromised.
• Make sure the tax rates, registration numbers and banking details on your documents are correct.
• Only load customer data you are entitled to process, and handle it in line with POPIA.
• Do not use UseForge for fraudulent invoicing, to send unsolicited bulk email, or to break any law.

AI features

The AI drafting feature produces suggestions. It can be wrong. Check every line item, price and tax figure before you send a document. You remain responsible for what you send.

Availability

We work to keep UseForge available, but we do not promise uninterrupted service. We may take the service down for maintenance and will give notice where we reasonably can.

Your data

You own your data. You can export your customers and payments at any time, and download any document as a PDF. We handle personal information as set out in our privacy policy.

Suspension and termination

You can close your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, does not pay, or puts the service or other users at risk. Where the situation allows, we will warn you first and give you a chance to put it right.

Liability

UseForge is provided as-is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profit, or lost data, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the fees you paid us in the three months before the claim arose. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including under the Consumer Protection Act where it applies.

Changes

We may update these terms. If a change materially affects you, we will tell you by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use UseForge after that means you accept the change.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of South Africa, and the South African courts have jurisdiction.
